So Sunday I put up my favorite shots from photo class last week. Yesterday my class and teacher chose this photo as my best. Actually, they really liked it. After hearing their accolades I decided I really like it too. Here is a good lesson -- it is important to show your work to others. Not just the good stuff, but everything. People's opinions are interesting and varied and you can receive a lot of great feedback from them.

SOS at Myrtle Beach
My family and I met at Myrtle Beach this weekend. The 19th marks a year since my dad passed away and though she never really said, I'm sure my sister planned this weekend to take our minds off of the sad event. So we went to the beach -- something my dad would have completely approved of.
It was SOS weekend otherwise knows as Society of Shaggers weekend.
We did not participate in shagging (in SC that is a dance) because with a three-year-old in tow, who can stay up late enough to dance, but we did do a lot of swimming and Jayden enjoyed the Pavilion rides that have been moved to the Boardwalk.

I had another night photography class before I left, so here are a few shots from that too.

Walk to Haight-Ashbury
So I spent most of this weekend making spaghetti sauce and pesto for the winter (I made a pie too), but I did take a break on Saturday to go for a walk. It was beautiful in The Mission and sometimes I forget that we have the best weather in the city. Immediately after I crossed Market on Castro, it turned overcast and began to mist. Still, I think I got a few nice shots.Be prepared for some night shots in the near future. I'm taking a night photography class. I'm hoping it inspires me to carry my tripod more often and actually take photos at a different times of day.
