Flamengo to Copacabana


I had to go to Flamengo for a meeting at the People's Summit.  After spending all week cramped in the very back of a small minivan, I decided that I would walk back to Copacabana after my meeting. I figured this would give me an opportunity to explore the entire People's Summit and see the plastic bottle fish that made the news (or at least, every photo spread of Rio+20).

The route: about 6 miles (give or take some for wandering around the People's Summit which was scattered around Praca Paris and Aterro do Flamengo).

Apparently inside that coconut-looking fruit is a beautiful flower which will bloom in a few months.
